On Sunday morning walk the neighborhood loop to pick up artisanal coffee, and spy a National Park Seminary sign:
Another Time Imagine this landscape as it was a century ago. National Park Seminary was then a highly regarded private school for young women. The campus showcased small, simple gardens and wide lawns graced with European sculpture. Paths wound through the nearby woods, across stone bridges, and down into Rock Creek Park. The school founders believed outdoor exercise was an important part of education. They encouraged students to spend time walking, horseback riding, and playing sports such as field hockey and soccer. |
... and pause of course to admire the lovely "Mermaid Fountain"!
